2010 Twilite

Prepare yourself for my speech.

Twilite's design was first inspired by wolf Link from the Legend of Zelda, but she was never actually meant to resemble him. Her name was actually a mix of Twilight from Twilight Princess, and the Nintendo DS Lite (which I wanted really, really badly at the time lol! I’m such a nerd) I didn't choose her to be a black fursona to be cliche, but because my hair color is very dark brown, almost black (though her coar has lightened and become browner over time). Her brown eyes are also supposed to match mine. She once had blue eyes and a triforce on her forehead, but I decided that it really didn’t fit me so I changed them to green. I finally settled on brown, though.

Because my pseudonym is SilverKeaton, I wanted to have some parts silver, so the secondary gray coat came in. And because my favorite color is green, I decided I wanted that there too. Her green has changed from a very grayish green, to a lightened but still (I thought) desaturated green, til I moved to this greenish yellow. I’ve really come to love it. I also love, love, LOVE wings, so her socks, chest, belly side, and under-leg markings are all supposed to resemble wing patterns. The halo on her chest was due to my angel obsession. :b I’m not sure if I’ll keep it, since people seem to assume it’s a full ring instead of a flattened one.;; Opinions?

And another obsession? Glowies! They were originally only on my dragonsona, but I thought they looked really good so I added them to her normal form. C: The day/night relation was added later (so I knew when to switch between the two) but I’d come to love the glowies, they created a big part of her character and made her unique (as far as I knew;; ). As for her species, she’s a dog. She started off as a wolf/fox hybrid thing, but as time passed by I realized that those animals didn’t suit me. I’ve had dogs all my life, their love and loyalty has always been something inspiring to me. It’s only right that my fursona would be a dog.

Twi’s been the most personal character I’ve created; and I use the term ‘character’ lightly. She’s my icon, the fantasy, canid representation of me. I don’t really care about how realistic she seems, whether her freaky green fur or ~magical sparkly wings~ make sense in any way, even though I did spend some time questioning it. She’s my fursona; she doesn’t have to make sense. Heck, do I?

The best advice I can give anyone trying to design their own fursona: let it represent you.

I gotta add tho, I'm not a big fan of bright, neon colors(except for glowies lol) or overdone accessorizing (though I used to do it too! Maybe it's because I got tired of it), but hey, whatever floats your boat. xD

Random fact: I was literally ABOUT to give up and make a contest on designing my fursona before I came up with Twi. Don't lose hope!
